Dems will soon tighten those rules. They have promised to and it seems like they're planning to keep their promises. At least 90% of them. I think Bush kept about 5% of his promises from 2000. Mostly what he did was the stuff he hid from voters, like throw in with big oil to let them gouge away, to deregulate corruption in DC and to think up excuses to get us into Iraq.

However remember, lobbyists are protected by the Constitution so we can't get rid of them. That has been tested in court.
