I like your metaphor of the human body, by the way. Biologists can't even agree on the best way to lose weight. It used to be high carb, low fat, low sodium, low cholesterol. Then came low carb, high fat, i.e. Atkins. Then came South Beach. Heck, even cholesterol got divided up into HDL and LDL, while fats got divided up into saturated, polyunsaturated, and trans-fat. I remember when egg yolks were bad. Now it turns out they're OK. How about red food dye? You get the idea.

I don't think they agree because all of them are ways to lose weight. I think the effectiveness of each one varies from person to person. Of course, the best way for all types is reduced caloric intake and increased exercise. Works nearly every time. ;-)
