Watching SEC football is like watching a Chinese Fire Drill. In five minutes of SEC football……. you will see crazy fumbles, blocked punts, triple-option double reverses, flying wedges, interceptions and 80-yard touchdown runs. That might be exciting to the MTV generation, but it’s lousy football. Bring on Michigan for a rematch. If Florida tries its Chinese Fire Drill style against Ohio State, the Buckeyes will destroy them.

We used to have a “best matchup” or a “conference champion” bowl system. That system was scrapped for the system that attempts to pit the 2 best teams in the country together in the BCS Game. The BCS System was established principally because ot the loud complaints of schools like Florida that perceived unfairness because they were being overlooked in favor of historic football powers like Michigan.

Michigan is the second best team in the country, having lost one game by a field goal to the #1 team in the country IN COLUMBUS. Anybody who watched the two teams play this season must objectively concede that Michigan is a far better team than Florida by every metric.

Does anyone honestly believe that Florida has a shot at beating OSU? I haven’t met such a person. Instead, those favoring Florida rely on all the arguments in support of the old system: Florida won its conference; It would be a better national/geographic matchup; it’s not fair to the SEC, etc. If you want to bring back the old system or change the current one, it should be done next year.

Michigan v. OSU on a neutral site would be a battle for the ages.
