Sharjah: A day after the heavy rains, Sharjah residents are struggling to get back to their normal life.

Many streets are blocked to traffic due to water logging, and many more buildings are surrounded by sheets of water that are at times a foot deep, and potholes have surfaced overnight on many roads.

Commercial and residential areas limped back to normality following Saturday's heavy rainfall only to face more rains yesterday.

"My car was stuck in the parking lot and I could not go anywhere, the situation was terrible and the road has been flooded from all sides," said Yaqoub, who was standing next to the Emirates Banking Institute waiting for the water to be drained.
