I had just come back to Oceanside from LA on my motorcycle on the 5 one night, where I had just driven through some of the heaviest fog I had ever experienced. I literally could just see about 20 ft ahead of me. Some drivers were STILL driving 70 mph, so I took to riding on the far left edge of the shoulder until I got home.

I flipped on the 10 o'clock news, and there was a breaking report of a huge pileup on the 5 right where I had just been! The next day the total came in, and it was 105 vehicles, piling into each other one after the other in the fog.
