I just block the cookies in the first place. I like Firefox for that capability.

What I like is that you can teach Firefox about cookies. I used to have to go through the cookies and zap them, one at a time (as there are some that I wish to keep and don't want to use the "delete all" function).

Go to "Tools", click "Options" then "Privacy". Under "Cookies", check "Accept cookies from sites" and then "Ask me every time". When you go to sites such as those that have password and login cookies that you want to keep, you can tell Firefox to always "Accept" cookies from there and it won't ask you again.

Conversely, you can tell it to "Deny" cookies from sites that you wish it to. After a while, it will learn all the sites that you visit on a regular basis and only prompt you on newly visited sites.

I think that IE7 may have a similar function, but as MSFT, in it's wisdom, won't support IE7 on any OS earlier that Win2000, I can't install it on the old PC that I mostly use...
