Since a gamble is defined as - any matter or thing involving risk or hazardous uncertainty - then of course, the term would apply. Then again, putting money in U.S. savings bonds would be gambling as well, since there is no absolute guarantee that the U.S. will be around for you to collect. The term that I do not like is casino. To equate the entire market to a casino is to totally disregard, and disrespect every honest company that has intent to deliver, and every honest person that has done their DD. Reason being, because each and every game in the Casino is "rigged" to pay off for the house. That's not true in this market. Some companies are fair and honest, and show handle themselves strikingly different from the rest. Some companies do not deserve to be labeled.
