syh: thanks for the info. the dell 2407 is native 1920x1200 so the dvi-d on the ati card is supposed to be required to make that look its best. i'm going to do a comparison anyway since i'd like fewer things in the pc in the first place even if i've already paid for them. less parts, less to go wrong. plus i've found the intel graphics drivers to be well supported in the past.. relevance to amd?: it's another example of why addin cards may continue to be necessary in the absence of dvi-d or hdmi support on such platforms even if supported in the chipset. gb
