Per usual, you make some very informative, food for thought points.

When you write, "... I view Islam as merely another vehicle, a political instrument, that is capable of uniting the new underclass of Europe (and, to a lesser extent, of America). No arguments with that statement nor with it's underlying concept.

Nor can I argue with your pointing out "...the big irony of the French-Algerian war..." True, indeed.

Gus, good Lord, I was beginning to sense that you were a member of the Reformed Odanarian (sp?) movement or something. Never dreamt you were polytheistic. :^)

Concepts of a-, mono-, and poly-theism are complex. There is no central authority in Judaism comparable to the Catholic Pope. As I understand it, in Judaism some argue for the existence of other spiritual entities, in addition to the G-d of Israel. Allegedly, these entities may be acknowledged as gods by some "religions." The first Commandment in Exodus reads "...no OTHER God before me." The roots of islam are strangely interesting in this regard. An interesting topic, but not apropos here.

Regardless, I don't think the insane enmity of islam benefits anyone. To argue that Christians, Jews, and Western civilization has been worse is not a valid rebuttal.

When you look at the contorted, hate-filled faces comprising militant islam gatherings they appear pitiful. What do they say about the face being the mirror of the soul? That is why I wonder, does islam have any positive aspects that I'm missing? Oddly no one will answer the question.
