I'd be an "ist" if I were trying to impose my paradigm on others. There's a difference between thinking the world would be a better place "if" and using power to establish or maintain dominion

There are "isms" around whose adherents try to gain adherent through persuasion. However, every political movement will try to put its program into practice once it has the power to do so. The more important question is whether the "ism" is compatable with other political programs, or works on a winner-take-all basis.
