They won't print a retraction because what they printed was true, but became a lie because they knowingly took it out of context, which is their main MO.

I think it sucks. My mother majored in journalism and music in the early 1940s.

Her journalism prof hired a guy to bust into the classroom and shoot him (with blanks of course), and then gave them the assignment of writing up what happened. Of course, everybody came up with a different story but it was an honest effort at journalism.

Today, the assignment would be, "Write a story supporting your own views based on the facts that you see before you."
