<Japan had it for 20 years recently> Japan is an export oriented economy with a persistent trade surplus and a sky high savings rate -- when the US is running a massive trade surplus with a sky high savings rate please get back to me because I think then, and only then, there would be a serious risk of deflation. Until then, the odds are miniscule that the US will suddenly defy all logic and the laws of economics and slide into deflation.
