Why don't we leave the earnings estimates to the analysts. If not, we are setting ourselves up to "miss the whisper numbers." Don't do the shorts a favor. Don't provide them with whisper numbers. Anyone notice that the article on thestreet.com is doing this. They imply that Jay Silverman is estimating sales could be as high as 80 million, or .10 to .20. (big range!) this month. I haven't heard this estimate from anyone before and don't think it is accurate. We all know that no matter what Agouron earns, the street will find some way to give it a negative spin. Let's not help them.
