Lost cause? Where did anyone ever say that? I think you missed their point... lost cause? First of all, that is a highly illogical idea, and secondly, no one even said such a thing despite the fact that you think it was said...
With the losses we took at Iwo Jima, would anyone have said it was a "lost cause?" And with our losses on the beaches at Normandy, would anyone have said we "should remove our troops?" Who would have said such a thing? Who would have said "it was not our fight," it's a "European civil war and none of our business?" Who? Not a single sensible individual would have uttered such absurd comments... yet, the situation today is far worse, today we have many hitlers, and in more than one country, we have religious extremists sword to murder all of us and to destroy our way of life only because we don't agree with their views... we removed sadam, but when the iranian leader has already sworn to "remove America from the face of the earth," we had better take him seriously, the entire moslum world is cheering him on, how can you not see it?
