"Plants love eating CO2 and vast limestone deposits and shell-bearing beasties are neutralizing carbonic acid as it forms. Plus it just soaks into the ocean which is a very big sink. "

Good try. But the oceans are absorbing less, and are predicted to be taking in 10% less by the end of the century. Already, they are taking up less...2GT/year in the 80's, down to < 1.8 GT in the 90's. And carbonate is being used up. And the water is warming, which means it can hold less.

For God sakes, if you aren't gonna buy the book, how are you gonna know to read
Sabine, et al Science 305 (2004): 367 , or

Cox et al, Nature 408 (2000) :184 ?

I'm not optimistic you will. Buy the book; it's the physiology of the planet.
