Darfur is a different animal than Iraq. While I agree with you that we should not abandon the Sunnis in Iraq. The Sunni's in Iraq would not be in the situation they are in now if we didn't put them in it. We owe them that and it will cost some more blood. Obviously I don't favor being in that war but it was a winnable war, still is now if it were fought with a plan that would allow us to win.

As for Darfur, that is a tragedy few understand. That part of the world doesn't have enough to interest the west into reacting to the crises and thats just how it is, always has been. I don't understand though why the west doesn't just take out large sections of the Sudanese military forces with air power. Coordinated air power with the intention of inflicting maximum casualties on troops that are exposed like those troops are can do a lot and quickly. I don't think to many would have a problem with that.

Same with the Serbs. I was glad we did what we did over there. I just don't like the way it was done. The serb army was very vulnerable to air power yet they were not the focus of our effort. When you have situations like that and you choose to get involved, why not do it the right way. It worked on Germany. Tooks losing two generations of men but that is the language people understand.
