Darfur is a different animal than Iraq.

That's interesting.. Because I see VERY similar elements involved in Darfur that we see acting in Iraq.

Please explain how Darfur is different than Iraq.

And how is it that people think that stepping inside of a civil in Darfur is going to have any more success than trying to prevent a civil war in Iraq??

They seem jerked to tears by the images they see on CNN as it reveals the plight of so many suffering people in the Balkans, Somalia, and Darfur. But for the Iraqi people, suffering from deliberate attacks upon innocent people, there is nothing.

And in the case of Somalia, all it required was one tragic raid gone wrong and the next thing you see is we're heading for the doors, leaving the Somali people to their own devices. And look where they are now.. An Islamic state in the offing...

Btw, how does dividing countries along ethnic lines accomplish any real reconciliation? What we did in the Balkans may very well have some terrible repercussions in the future. They each have their own little ethnic enclaves, and pretty soon they start fighting each other over natural resources and "lebensraum".

I'm not a big believer in partitioning countries into ethnic enclaves.
