What freedom do we take for granted?
A free news media?
Freedom from government censorship?
Freedom from government eavesdropping?
(You did notice... down near the bottom of the article... that the US was listed for having some reporters in jail, too. I'd argue that NO FREEDOMS are absolute, anywhere on this troubled old globe... and that goes for right here in the good old U.S. of A. too.)
No doubt, however, that China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Korea, Russia, etc., are in a *whole 'nother league* when it comes to repression and State censorship! |
