John, one interesting thing that the Bush Administration, Republicans, and Muslim Middle Eastern countries have in common is that they all love the high price of oil. Bush refuses to do anything to get off oil and the Arabs are talking about production cuts, which both conspire to keep oil prices high.

What's interesting about this is that both groups are so blind to a huge dynamic going on right now. People are making gobs of money off of renewables right now and more and more countries are passing laws to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. So the Arabs are so idiotic, they are keep oil prices so high that it is destroying future demand.

Within 10-20 years, one of two things will happen:
1) you and I will be laughing at the poverty of the Arab regimes when the oil prices collapse from demand that has plummeted due to cheaper alternative renewable fuels
2) we won't be happy that the price of oil will be $200 and climbing, because the Arabs will still be making good money, althought nothing like what they made in the 2000's, but at least we'll be happy that most of the world has already moved away from oil to fuel their cars due to price competitive alternatives
