I agree, oil is up from $10 ($20 or so average in the 90-s) in
98 to where it is now, commodities and gold are up a lot as well,
so more inflation could appear in the data soon. Oil does not
make everything, though. I'm quoting Williams, who calculates
it from a basket of goods without hedonics, just as CPI supposed
to be calculated. Yes, it is up. Hyperinflation is 30% a day or
so. The currency adds many zeroes over time -g-/-ng-. This
outcome is a possibility, but it does not seem to be a near-term
possibility. -g-
