"redeeming treasuries"? -- I doubt it, although they do stop buying more. As for retail China market, it is pretty big. I read somewhere there a couple of trillion US$ in China's retail market (held by individuals), and now plenty of them flowing to the US stock market. Look at those China ADR plays running hot lately, I bet a lot of buyers are Mainland Chinese<g>
