Die size estimate for Intel 45nm parts.

Wolfdale (6MB L2) DC ---> 105 mm^2

Yorkfield QC MCM with 12MB L2 is therefore a total of 210 mm^2, in two dies.

(Based on: 143mm^2 4MB L2 65nm Conroe, .59 shrink factor to 45nm, 50% increase in L2 4MB --> 6MB, L2 representing ~39% of Conroe die, test circuitry for SSE4 & Rockton likely already present but inactive in CMW, but small core increase nonetheless)

Just an early guess.

210 mm^2 vs 285-300 mm^2 for Barcelona. Not bad for 3-6 TIMES the cache, and a 30%+ clock advantage.
