george,

Great observation.

I wonder how long Ben and Hank's rhetoric will have the ability to move the market. Looks like Hank's words were worth 1/2 a cent gain against the Euro yesterday. It might be interesting to loosely track the magnitude (if any) of future strong dollar talk. That game might offer significant diminishing returns if there is a real exodus from the dollar.

PS: I appreciate all the work you do regarding the bullion holdings of GLD. I'm considering GLD in lieu of bullion for any additional bullion exposure I may add.

Good Trading

"The dollar wiped out earlier losses against the euro on Friday after Hank Paulson, US Treasury Secretary, brushed off concerns about its recent slide.

“I believe very strongly that a strong dollar is in our nation’s best interest and I feel very good about the strength of our economy right now,” said Mr Paulson.

The comments came in thin trading conditions as traders in London were leaving work, helping the dollar rise 0.5 per cent against the euro to $1.3220."
