Patrick,

You may be right. DELL is more likely to take share from GTW than CPQ. CPQ is just getting their BTO up and running for desktops this month.

CPQ may have hurt GTW with their low cost laptops. I do not really know.

DELL said it was going after the consumer and educational markets that are GTW' primary markets. Also, the dead inventory buildup is not natural to the direct model, I have to conclude that GTW does not have the same manufacturing model as DELL. If it did it would not have a dead inventory buildup.

I thought about investing in GTW a while back but I decided against on the basis of their operational efficiency numbers.

IMO, in trying to differentiate themselves from the other PC companies GTW has lost some of its market focus.
