Dear Tobago Jack,
I'm sure that ElMatador can tell you about at least one sugar cane producer that was listed on the Brazilian stock market this year. But I have not been successful in finding a broker anywhere who would accept my order for it. Sounds like they are insulated from foreign stock trading, like India. In both cases only a few companies have ADRs. There are no Brazilian agriculture stocks with ADRs. As you know I'm not one of those who only trade through US brokers. In fact I have accounts with
brokers in Stockholm,Amsterdam,Hong Kong,Singapore. There may be a way for foreigners to invest in Brazilian shares not listed as ADR's. Somebody who can read Portuguese may know.
Chugs,
