Developed the mechanical tabulating machines. Essentially mechanical, and later electromechanical computers. Invented the Hollerith card(punch card) for a US census(1880?) when the US realized that it would take more than 10 years to count the census results manually. His company was later renamed IBM.

You don't have to believe me. Ask Harris. He gave you a link to an excellent book on the subject.
