Democrats are for Constitutional civil rights and equal rights. If that includes not descriminating against gays, fine. As for our gays, they are openly and honestly gay and are not trying to hide that from anyone. Nor do they have to flaunt it. And they are hurting nobody.

As for gay marriage, that's an issue the rightwing brings up to try and pander dishonestly to religious conservatives and other gay haters. Similar to the way the rightwing panders to racism. Few democrats are for gay marriage. We're happy with Dick Cheney's position which is civil unions decided by the states.

The problem with the GOP rightwing is that they think bashing gays is the way to make money and gain more political power. Unfortunately for them, in real life they are often gay themselves, living in closets while pointing fingers at others. Those are the worst kind of the gays and human beings, the ugly hypocrites. Reverand Haggard is the perfect example, as was J. Edgar Hoover, but there are many more at the top of the rightwing hierarchy. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if your boy Santorum is secretly light in the loafers. He certainly looks gay, and his righthand man is gay. He who smelt it dealt it is usually true. Rove, Hastert, Norquist and Mehlman are also rumored to be closet cases, along with Limbaugh, Coulter, Ingraham and Karen Hughes. I'll bet the real list of top rightwing closet cases runs into the dozaens or hundreds.
