The Mini Packers were met with a lot of tough competition down in Florida. We were in every single game we played. Lost by 8 points in one, 6 in another, and 4 in the last one. They were all exciting and great games. We just had a few bad breaks at critical times. Each went right down to the wire.

Despite it all, the kids really had a great time. Lasting memories for sure. It also has them talking about what they have to do to win it next year.

The kids really played hard and are battered and bruised after this grueling week.

After the last loss, the mothers decided to honor the boys (and fathers') wishes to go to the restaurant next to the hotel called "Hooters". (Chain restaurant that features chicken wings and attractive looking waitresses.)

I don't want to come across as being sexist of whatever but I'm just reporting it as it was... The purty girls there sure helped us forget the bad feeling we had about losing. The waitresses were actually great about it. They posed in photos with the kids and autographed their official "Hooters" calendars. One kid asked the attractive waitress to give him a kiss on his cheek. As she did it, the 12 year old boy cleverly turned his head so the kiss hit directly on his lips.

It was very funny watching these kids at this age of discovery...

Perhaps it wasn't the responsible thing to do but after a week of lectures, overdoses of coaching, and all the stress, it was a light humored way for the kids to bond and have stories to tell. Today in the airport I discovered our biggest, heaviest lineman with his football championship sweatshirt with an autograph on his back that read, "Hugs and Kisses from Destiny." I read it and thought about how that would make a good title for the book about this team. :o)
Especially if we go back and win it all next year...

We really had a fun time together in the hotel and traveling about. We played teams from Texas, Carolina, and Connecticut. It was a great experience.

It is good to be home and finished for the season.

I'm spent.
