I think you put your finger on it. CPQ has a 12-13% share or worldwide PC sales, so there is a lot of upside potential for them. Intel has an 85% share, so the upside is not so great.

After all if CPQ et al gain share from the 3rd tier, Intel does not increase sales.

Because of the upside potential of the top 5 box makers and consolidation going on, many are a good investment, particularly CPQ. CPQ's servers are selling like hotcakes, not representing 40% of profits. Also, the Tandem purchase positions CPQ to move up to the enterprise level.
