Simple, cost-effective licensing and highly scalable, distributed solution demonstrate NetScout's price-performance leadership in the NetFlow market

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading provider of network and application performance management solutions, today announced nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow, a NetFlow-centric solution that includes fully integrated support for Cisco's IP SLA.
Priced at $125,000 per site license, the solution is aimed at Global 2000 enterprises, government agencies, and service providers who are looking to leverage NetFlow data sources to expand their performance management capabilities with the most cost-effective solution available.

NetScout's solution combines nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow and a number of nGenius Collector appliances, depending on the scale of the installation. The former collects NetFlow and IP SLA performance metrics from nGenius Collectors and aggregates, analyzes, displays and reports them in real time and over history. The latter are high-performance appliances for receiving NetFlow datagrams from up to 5,000 interfaces, as well as results from up to 500 IP SLA tests from Cisco routers.

The benefits of nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow include:

Cost-effectiveness. NetScout is delivering a unified solution for NetFlow and IP SLA analysis and reporting for a one-time, unlimited enterprise license. This makes the nGenius System for NetFlow the most cost-effective solution for Global 2000 enterprises, government agencies, and service providers wanting to leverage NetFlow as a source of data for capacity planning.
High Scalability and Performance. The nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow supports multiple servers in a distributed architecture as well as a standby server for protection against hardware failures and natural disasters. A single nGenius Collector supports up to 5,000 NetFlow interfaces, up to 500 IP SLA tests and up to two million flows per minute, far exceeding the capacity of any other collector product on the market.
Superior Analysis & Reporting. The nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow gives network managers a unified view of NetFlow, IP SLA and MIB II data in the same graphical screen views and reports. Easy to use out of the box, it also includes richer configurability and built-in troubleshooting aids for quicker Netflow solution deployment than other common solutions on the market today.
"NetScout is an established leader in flow-based performance management and has more than a decade of experience with NetFlow data. This offering allows our customers to expand their network management scope in a highly scalable manner," said Michael Szabados, senior vice president of product operations, NetScout Systems. "Further with our addition of support for the IP SLA that's readily available in these Cisco enterprise networks, users can view both capacity and end-user responsiveness side-by-side, in the same screens and reports. Whether you look at it from a feature, functionality, or cost perspective, the introduction of the nGenius Performance Manager for NetFlow makes NetScout the clear choice for large organizations."
