You are right... Trent Lott is the Senator from MISSISSIPPI, (not from Florida...), and --- at that time --- he was *certainly* arguing AGAINST tort suits, and getting big contributions from insurance industry... quite a bit different from his current position as a plaintiff SUING big insurance companies in his home State. :-)

Quite a reversal, but all in a day's work for a politician, I guess.
