Hindsight is always 20/20. You can always go back in time and pick out the people who were right on the money.

I remember when Bill Maher first started out as a naysayer on the Iraq war. After Baghdad fell, Maher then admitted he was wrong. (I specifically remember seeing that on the Tonight Show.) Then when the post-war dragged on, Maher then went back to being a naysayer.

Such is the complexities of the whole Iraq mess.

> For another, has everyone gotten collective amnesia about why George Sr. refused to go into Baghdad? Or General Shinseki? Or that the Middle East has been considered highly volatile because of the infighting? Has everyone gone suddenly stupid?

I remember when Bush Sr.'s decision NOT to go into Baghdad was second-guessed. People on this very thread were saying that Bush Sr. should have gone in when we had the opportunity.

Like I said, hindsight is 20/20.
