"how far back do you want to go?"

Well... I posted here on this threat PRIOR to the inception of the latest Iraq war that I *supported* the war --- though after posting my estimate that it would likely cost us around 1/2 trillion dollars before all was said and done, I stated that the pro-war decision was a *narrowly decided* opinion, considering the balance of potential gains and potential losses.

And I also posted that, IMO, the ideal time to have knocked over Saddam was during the FIRST US/Iraq War (first Prez. Bush)... and that there was just no explaining the strategic idiocy of THAT PARTICULAR call not to drive on to Baghdad: It lacking all common sense to 'wound a Bear, then leave him alive in the woods for another day' --- as I exactly posted here.

However, with respect to this latest particular military adventure --- it would have been completely impossible to have known in advance that the WH would so totally screw-up to occupation phase! (Had I been able to know that 'in advance' I would NOT have been able to support the war like I did).

Still --- some two or three months PRIOR to the start of hostilities --- when reports started to be published claiming that the Bush WH had TOSSED OUT THE WINDOW the *entire Iraq Occupation Plan* that was the product of two to three years development by our best Pentagon military minds, State Department Arabist regional experts, and the C.I.A., and were instead going with some sketchy 'back-of-the-envelope type' Neo-Con endorsed occupation 'plan' (more of a memo, really :-( I again posted my alarms about that unfortunate development here.

So, no, GZ... I don't think that 'Monday Morning Quarterback' quite describes the arc of my posted opinions on this matter at all.
