Obama can certainly win, in 2016. But not yet. He's young, black inexperienced, untested and we're talking winning conservative swing states not Cook County. In the general elections winning over liberal voters doesn't count for jack unless you're trying to fight off Nader or something.

The liberal wing of the democratic party always gets excited about a leftward candidate early on, including Jesse Jackson who once challenged for the nomination. But in the end those candidates cannot win. However if Obama becomes a VP and does a good job he could be a shoe-in in 2016, thereby locking up the White House for 16 years. But first Dems need to accept that fact that our best candidates are not new flavors of the month, they are very well known: Gore, Kerry and Biden. Those three are also most qualified. Hillary is going to crash and burn if she tries to run. Surprise, surprise.

The only one who could win fairly easily doesn't really want to run or doesn't have any passion about it, Al Gore. Soi guess what, John Kerry may be our best candidate. Believe it or not.
