TI signals slowdown in mobile handset industry

Contrast this with earlier comments today from Modoff re: QCOM


While it is true that TI is losing share in WCDMA chipsets during the 4th quarter, it is equally true that it is almost impossible for Q to have a great quarter without TI participating. Their basebands are in handsets that represent >25% of Q's royalties and their OMAP applications processors probably up that percentage to over 30%.

Unfortunately, TI directly attributed their weakness to the high-end of the market....which means WCDMA.
