Slacker, Re: : TI signals slowdown / 3G weakness and-

Yes, Qualcomm is going to gain share during the quarter, but Samsung and LG combined for something like 12% of WCDMA handsets during the 3rd quarter.

A 5% share loss by TI wouldnt have shown up so strongly in their financials if the overall market was growing strongly. Unfortunately, TI's comments severely limit the chances of much upside to the 100 million unit consensus. “

1. VOD states during the Christmas season-
+ 77% of the handset models are 3G
+ and 38% of the 3G models use the Q chipsets.

VOD is the one of the world’s largest carriers (if not the largest)-- What % of WCDMA sales do you recon VOD represents?

2. Cingular is only using QCOM equipped handsets for their 3G,-- What % of WCDMA sales?

3. I believe TIM (BREW) is using QCOM equipped handsets.

4. I believe virtually all 3G laptops (embedded / aircards) use QCOM chipsets.

5. KDDI is taking share from DoCoMo.

Do you believe from TI’s “softness” places QCOM’s prior guidance in jeopardy, or only there’s little change of exceeding such?
