IranCell begins talks with China’s Huawei for BTS production
12/11/2006 Tehran, Dec 13, Taliya News – 2nd Mobile Phone Operator and China’s Huawei Operator have began negotiations for manufacturing NTS and BSC device in Iran. IranCell Managing Director Ali-Reza Qalambor-Dezfouli added in an interview with ISNA here Sunday, “The Iranian team participating at Hong King 2006 Telecom Exhibition, comprised of IranCell and Iran Telecom Industries, held initial negotiations with Huawei on the matter.”
He added, “Our talks were focused on production of BTS and BDS devices, as well as other telecom facilities like SBH parts that are used in mobile network infrastructures and microwave links at a broader scale in Iran.”
Dezfouli said that the negotiations in those respects were successful.
On extent of Huawei’s participation in expansion of these products’ production lies in Iran, he said, “Their part in the project is the technological aspect of the project, while Iran Telecom Industries would heed the production part.”
He reiterated, “We had priorly negotiated with Nokia on the case and they are waiting for the establishment of a consortium to begin production.”
IranCell Managing Director had earlier announced that the 2nd Operator’s BTS and BSC manufacturing lines would being production in very near future.
According to him, Nokia would in addition to those production lines also launch a software training workshop in Iran in collaboration with and Iranian consortium comprised of Fars Consortium. |
