Sarah Palin is keeping her campaign promise not to become part of the jet set. Without setting foot on the state's Westwind II, Palin directed Department of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to put the jet up for auction on the Internet auction site eBay, which the state has used in the past to sell a ferry and various aircraft. The Murkowski administration bought the Westwind II for $2.7 million just 13 months ago. In her campaign, Palin said the purchase of the aircraft in defiance of public opinion became a symbol of an arrogant administration.
