Wow...pretty bitter analysis.

As I have stated before, the Democrats will have a much tougher job going forward, as they must now share the task of governing instead of being back-benchers.

But it is still remarkably easy to just run against the old republican ways...run against Iraq. Run against earmarks. Run against "working three days a week". Run against lack of oversight..

And it will continue to work until the President (the sole remaining representative of republican operating power) can show some successes to push back on.

The congressional republicans of the past six years didn't look like any other republicans I ever saw. Big spenders, big government, big borrowers....and a lot more. They looked more like democrats than the democrats did.
