you:

Yeah, notice all that 90nm output continuing on and on... Where the heck is it coming from if Fab 30 is being shut down? Chartered? Not telling the truth about Fab 36 "full conversion" ?

me:

Well, as usual Doug can be counted to see a turd in every punchbowl.

To me the presentation was very upbeat and pretty much what I expected. I found the continued assurance of a mid 07 Barcelona intro as gratifying. In the Q&A someone asked about q4 GMs to which Rivet responded that he wouldn't comment, but he replied that AMD liked to meet guidance and then give a glance that left little doubt that AMD was going to meet those increased expectations. Increasing GMs combined with the move to 65nm should give AMD lots of room to fool around with pricing in 07 and still do very well.

As far as 90nm goes I expect the conversion of fab30 to fab38 will progress as needed over 07 and possibly into 08. As far as Charter goes there have been stories about it converting to 65nm relatively quickly. So, all in all this sounds like just like another of Dougs imaginary problems. Doug really seems to like playing out in left field.
