Now, off the top of my head, you need to make enough to own a home, raise kids and still save.

The part of this sentence that I thought was problematic was the idea of saving. I see plenty of people that finally make a little "extra" money, but rather than save they move into a bigger apartment, buy a flat screen TV, get a new car, or spend on whatever. If saving is a necessary part of being MC, relatively well off people often spend themselves down to lower class at Best Buy and the Toyota dealership, the poor lower class Mercedes driving slobs.
