Mr Holewinski , You are obviously a very sophisticated investor and I am pleased that my comments have attracted your attention. You are correct in you statements concerning Warren Buffetts purchases. My comment was not meant to mislead but to point out that if the worlds greatest investor believes interest rates are poised to fall further then we should all be paying attention. In regards to Triax being a Canadian Trust and that Buffetts investment in U.S bonds does not mean a thing I have to disagree.Tradionally with a few exceptions Canadian interest rates have followed U.S. rates. If long term U.S 30 year bonds yields fall towards 5% you can bet the farm Canadian rates will follow because the Canadian unemployment rate is at 9%.The odds are substantial that high yield bonds yields will drop accordingly.I am betting the farm on this because in Canada it has been projected that the Canadian annuall deficit will be elliminated by 1998 and the Goverment of Canada will no longer have to issue new bonds!
