A mild stroke, caught early, isn't that bad these days. OTOH, brain surgery is scary.

I don't know about the rules regarding an incapacitated Senator. It might be a state by state rule - I'm just hoping he recovers soon. With my friend's wife, they expected a coma for a few days or more ... it was only after a week or two that the doctors became really concerned that she would never wake up. So the next week is probably critical.
