Mr. Mackenzie Watson of Freewest Resources reports

FREEWEST PROVIDES AN UPDATE ON ITS WINDFALL PROPERTY, NORTHWESTERN QUEBEC

Freewest Resources Canada Inc. is contemplating, in early 2007, additional fieldwork at the Windfall property in northwestern Quebec, where Noront Resources Ltd. has recently intersected a spectacular new mineralized zone, grading 1,327.9 grams per tonne over 4.8 metres (see Noront news reported in Stockwatch Dec. 01, 2006.

The discovery is hosted by a strong northeast-trending structure readily visible on ground geophysical maps that extends onto the Freewest/Murgor Windfall property. The joint venture tested the structure in 2006 with two drill holes at one locality, approximately 1.5 kilometres to the northeast. Specks of visible gold were observed in the drill core and best grades returned one g/t Au over one metre.

The Windfall property comprises 214 mining claims covering an area of 8,995 hectares and is held 50 per cent by Freewest and 50 per cent by Murgor Resources Inc. To date, 15,967 meters of drilling have been completed at the Windfall property where three gold zones (F-11, F-17 and F-51) have been defined to date on northeast-trending structures parallel to that of Noront's new discovery.

Freewest management continues to be extremely enthusiastic about the Windfall property. Down-plunge extensions of both the F-17 and F-51 zones remain open and now several kilometres of the very prospective structure hosting the new Noront discovery remain untested.

Gold analyses reported in this release were performed by standard 30-gram fire assay with AA finish and assays were performed by ALS Chemex Laboratories, in Val d'Or, Que. Jean-Philippe Desrochers, PGeo, and vice-president of exploration of Murgor Resources was the qualified person in the field and is responsible for the technical aspects of this news release.
