re: I see our little pond here in the US as being SO much higher than the rest of the world, that it will be going down for a long time before our boats experience any lift again. Why? I often wonder at the defeatism I see, but mostly it is from younger folks. Part and parcel of America is our optimism; that each generation will have a better life than the last. And it's pretty much happened every time (X/depression). That's what we all work so hard for. It is the heart of this country. If nobody believes it anymore then guaranteed it won't happen. Maybe I'm the American dinosaur; the last optimist.
