Billy,
I think you see the picture, although I am still unsure about the forces at work. I may have a better grasp today than I had last night, however. For some light reading, you might want to take a look at the EUTO thread (posts 6553 and 6642 are interesting), or the MIDL thread (posts 63, 64, 65 equally interesting). It seems as though a few friends -- actually many of them, documented throughout the EUTO thread -- have formed an underground "shortbusting" club of some sort. They even have their own password-protected web site ("the site") and a network of email among the members. Please notice references to the "party" -- what does that sound like to you?
Strange as it may seem, I really do not blame them for forming a counter-attack against some of the unscrupulous measures used by certain individuals to hurt particular stocks, and against some of the sneaky maneuvers of market makers. As I mentioned several posts back, feel free to read my response on the PLSIA thread regarding "guerilla tactics" which have been used to harm innocent companies and innocent shareholders.
But that's where my comfort zone ends, so far as this group is concerned. When "shortbusting" gets out of hand and becomes no more than a group of vigilante ruffians who attack any opinion other than their own, then I have no respect. Last night's escapade, (continued into this morning) was like a school of sharks in a feeding frenzy, a group of bullies in the school yard. And for what? Because one of them happens to disagree with my opinion on a single issue? Pretty extreme. I'm just glad that burning crosses cannot be transmitted across the internet by knights in white satin. I am not an enemy to anyone, not to AGTI, not to its shareholders and not to any reader of this thread. If my opinions offend anyone, there's an easy solution called the "Next" button. No need to muster the boys.
Finally, I stand by my comments regarding market makers and AGTI. If I was misinformed, then my post on that issue was an honest mistake for which I apologize to all. Since my credibility seems to be in question, I still suggest that someone other than me call Bob Hunziker and inquire about market makers versus dealers as they relate to AGTI. Better yet, read this post to him and ask him to verify the remarks he made to me on Friday, 9/26 about this issue. I would be curious to see the result.
Sorry you inadvertently got toasted with me, Billy. But thanks. |
