re: I agree. Both are possible. But the tendency will likely be toward equality rather than having the US maintain its huge edge, unless the US comes up with some magical recipe that the Chinese/Indians cannot duplicate.

No doubt there is work to be done... the present course isn't good, especially with the trade and budget deficits and virtually unlimited low cost immigration. But the US economy is a machine that throws off a lot of free cash flow. Big problems are also big opportunities.
