Didn't know it ever was / wasn't WCDMA selected over CDMA2000, resulting in- + several years delay to WCDMA commercialization + QCOM having to solve WCDMA technical problems + QCOM thus diverting some of its resources from CDMA2000 with likely delays in implementing EV-DO revisions, etc.
