The answer to one of your questions is YES. I made a complete nonsense post and got a reply from The Vet that got me to focus on volume. Finally see a way to make money, or rather a way to try and make money. But I need real time quotes, to learn much more about gold options vs commodity contracts and decide which accounts I can and/or should use. Would require monitoring one area during market hours and I am not sure I am up to that. The muttering, rambling finally got me there and now I am even concerned about sharing the idea even though I would not have seen how to use the info without someone else sharing. BTW my purchase of Barrons was back in 1950. Perhaps it cost less than 50 cents, but whatever it was it was enough to make me really think about spending it.
