This was Johnson's third run-in with the law in the past 18 months.
In November 2005, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge. He was sentenced to 40 hours of community service and 18 months of probation.
In February, he was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a Chicago police officer outside a night club.

Due to NFL rules, Johnson would likely have to be convicted before the league would take any disciplinary action against him.
